External Practicum Placement
Practicum Placement Position: FILLED
Drice Psychotherapy offers practicum placements to students completing their Masters Degree in the counselling and psychotherapy field. It requires students to offer services as a Counselling Intern virtually and in-person to individuals (16+).
The ideal intern will:
Be a Masters level student completing their MA in Counselling (or equivalent)
Have the ability to provide in-person sessions in Ottawa, Ontario
Have the capacity to provide virtual sessions (access to high-speed internet, secure home office, adequate audio/video capabilities)
Have flexible availability; including evenings and weekends
Demonstrate initiative and autonomy
Have an interest in private practice
Manage time wisely
Be committed to learning and growth
Have a minimum of 20 DCC hours
Be drawn to working with ADHD, anxiety disorders, BIPOC mental health, and relational trauma
Have a thorough knowledge of, and abide by, all of the ethical standards and guidelines for providing therapy
Have strong verbal and written communication skills
Be passionate about the field of counselling and psychotherapy
Drice Psychotherapy offers:
Weekly supervision with a CRPO Approved Clinical Supervisor
Use of office space
A caseload of up to 8 client hours per week
Access to a secure online booking software and management system, along with secure video platform
Administrative support
Connection and collaboration with a supportive network
Experience working with teenagers (16+) and adults
Experience working with diverse populations (BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+)
