Individual Therapy

Therapy for Individuals

50 minutes | $185 (HST included)

In psychotherapy, a therapist helps a client manage mental health struggles and life difficulties through exploration, psychoeducation and tailored techniques. Clients can learn about their thoughts, moods, feelings and behaviors, and how these mechanisms relate to one another and ultimately affect the client. Ultimately, the psychotherapeutic process can help clients gain a better understanding of themselves, their emotional wounds, and enhance the effectiveness of their coping strategies.

At Drice Psychotherapy, these services are offered by our Registered Psychotherapists and Registered Psychotherapists (Qualifying) who are all members of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

Please note that our availability for individuals 5-12 years of age is full. We are currently only available to welcome clients 13+ for individual therapy sessions.

“You have the power to rewrite your story and reclaim your narrative.”

Meet Your Therapist, Shamira.

I am passionate about supporting individuals with anxiety disorders and relational trauma, particularly specializing in ADHD. My ultimate goal is to provide meaningful support that promotes lasting improvements. My approach to therapy is primarily grounded in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) modalities, while implementing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques and strategies in sessions.

Providing an open space for your emotional vulnerability and following you at your pace is the key to the onset of your healing journey. I work in collaboration with you in the therapy room - welcoming your feedback to help guide the therapeutic process. I take a strengths-based approach to ensure that your inner strengths are being accessed and cultivated. When appropriate for your needs, I incorporate practical tools established in evidence-based modalities and ancestral wellness practices to further assist you towards reaching your goals.

  • Just because you can tolerate harsh conditions and environments doesn't mean you have to.

  • Take people as they are, not as what they could be.

  • You can extend compassion for someone’s struggles while also acknowledging the hurt that their behaviour is causing you.

  • Bring compassion to the parts of you that you have outgrown. Thank them for showing you the path to growth.

  • It is not your responsibility to create or maintain harmony in the lives of those you care about. All you can control is how you support them.

  • Men's journey with anger, depression, and vulnerability is an opportunity for growth, self-discovery, and the dismantling of ocietal expectations that hinder their well-being.

  • Just because it is possible doesn't mean that it is likely or imminent.

  • Your worth is not tied to what you produce.

  • Don't let your loyalty to your wounds keep you from healing.

  • Stop letting people who don't see you tell you who you are.
